Tobias Rehberger & Thylacine – Landscape seen from an observation point
The German visual artist Tobias Rehberger and Thylacine, young French DJ and composer, presented on the occasion of the 15th edition of Nuit Blanche, on the 1st of October 2016, this immersive installation that mixes sound, light, graphic design and architecture, to plunge the spectator in a world under construction of a Grand Paris to be invented.
This monumental installation lets the spectator travel in a world of luminous signs akin to the frenetic neon lights of large metropolises such as New York and Tokyo, known for their hectic life, by day and by night. A ballet of words embraces the spectator, who is immerged at the heart of audio and luminous beats; he/she can discover the sensations of a city gradually waking up. The at first hesitating light projections accelerate and drop into the rhythm of the musical performance to invade the space and reveal on a big screen the end word of the cycle.
